You Are My Sunshine

I've been linking up with Gussy and her Inspiration Workshop.  When she sent the email with this week's theme, Sunshine, without hesitation I knew what I would blog about.

You see, ever since I was a little girl "You Are My Sunshine" was me and my momma's song. I do not hear it or sing it without thinking about her.

And it whisks me back to my childhood and our "little table".
Not our big table where she kept the pretty place mats and stuff.
No, I'm talking about the little table in the kitchen when the walls were still painted avocado green.
The little table pushed up against the window with the eyelet curtains where I would make skirts for my barbies out of cup cake liners.
The little table where it was OK to pull out the glue and paint and play-dough.
The little table where my love for creating all began.

So thanks mom for letting me have my fun in the green kitchen with the eyelet curtains at the little table. And thanks for the hundreds and hundreds of times we sang "our song' together.
I love singing it to my daughters and now my granddaughters.
"You Are My Sunshine".....always and forever .

oh.. and sunshine + chalk + sidewalks (or in this case the back patio) = FUN

Don't forget to check out Gussy and everyone else's thoughts on sunshine.
