The Sweetest Gift

Last week while I was at Elizabeth's she took some pics for me with the grandkids for Mother's Day.    It was the sweetest gift.
It was also an adventure with four kids. More specifically, it was an adventure with Nate Dog.
I don't think there were any "perfect" pictures taken at all.   Someone was always not looking.

But like I've told my girls for years..
Perfect is overrated anyways.

cuff by my girl Becky farmgirlpaints
(her shop re-opens Friday!)

My sweet first born Rosalyn.
The one who made me a Honey.
Our deep thinker, quick witted, best dance moves, sometimes bossy, always sweet, doesn't forget a thing, soon to be first grader.

My precious Julia Rose.
The one who recalls every detail of her dreams and has the best morning conversations in the world.
She's our dreamer, peacemaker, left handed artist, deeply sensitive, romantic, funny,  almost kindergartner.

My Little Man Nate
The first grandson
He's our wild child, hilarious, full of energy, hard headed, keeps us humble, loves to lead, all boy,  soon to be fully potty trained (we hope)

My Darling little Hazel Jane
The baby and caboose of this crazy love train
Our little drooler, momma lover, chubby legged, loves to nurse, wiggle worm!
Can't wait to watch your little personality continue to emerge.

Paw Paw
The love of my life and my lover.
He's our wise rock, our problem solver, nurse of the family, the one with all the answers, the one who sees the very best in everyone. Especially me.

And My Dearest Elizabeth
The one who has had to put up with a momma basically growing up with her.
She's a giver,  people lover,  best listener,  deep feeler, patient momma and great friend
Thanks sweet love for always showing your momma grace.
And thank you for taking these pictures for me.
You are so incredibly talented.  I love you.

( For Elizabeth's sake please know that none of these pics are edited.  They are straight out the camera.  Momma was hasty. ;) )
And thank you for those of you who still actually come hang out with me here.
Seriously.  Y'all are the best.

My backdrop secret...

Many of you have asked me about my cute backdrop from the pics in this post...

Well, here's my little secret behind all the cuteness...

It's just a vintage sheet that I pinned on my new favorite toy.

Its my new portable photography backdrop from TheLAShop.
I'm smitten with it and was so impressed with quality.
This baby opens up much wider... we left out an entire pole!  It's huge!  So I'm thinking at Christmas I will have to have a little photo sesh with my whole big ole family since I have the room for them.  ;)

 The wind kept blowing...

But that was nothing a brick or two couldn't fix.

We just used regular straight pins to pin it on the pole.
When I think about my big stack of vintage sheets that I can use for this I get giddy!
The possiblities are endless.
Of course you can order actual photography backdrops but where's the fun in that?

And while I'm giving away secrets and behind the scenes stuff...
look at these sweet sisters.

Now look at these sisters arguing over which side they are gonna stand on..
Both of them have the same "best side".

...and a few outtakes.
I love those.

This cute little photo sesh was so impromptu and so easy.
I know I am gonna use the backdrop for many years to come.
It was super easy to put together and it came in it's own carrying bag.
Easy peasy...my fave.

My birthday parties just got upgraded because of this sweet prop and all its possibilities.
I can't wait to try out this....

You should go check out TheLAShop.
It has everything and anything...from quirky to practical.
I mean, where else can you find tattoo kits, disco balls, unicycles and chicken coops all "under the same roof'?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of TheLAShop based on the product I chose. The opinions however,  are all mine.

The beautiful bride

I've been mia lately around here planning for a certain wedding.
Well it happened and was glorious.  I can't wait to share all about it with y'all on here.
Until then, I thought I'd show you Lauren's bridal pics that I have been dying to share.

I can't even begin to thank our friends, April and Paul, enough for all they have done for our family. They started off as friends as Elizabeth's, then became our photographers for Lydia's wedding, and have grown to become like family. April is like a 4th daughter and I love she and Paul both.  Their talent is amazing and their laid back style just makes me want to group hug every time we're together.  If you have a wedding coming up and still haven't decided on who is gonna capture your special day,  you better snap them up before they're booked.

A big thank you to Adrienne for the incredible flowers from her shop, Blooms Hattiesburg.  And to The Venue at The Bakery Building for their gorgeous location we used!
