Learning Lessons....again.

As many of us have come to discover, life comes with lots of unexpected and uninvited disappointments. Our burdens come in different shapes and sizes and different seasons of our lives.

A lesson the Lord has been trying to teach me this past year is to stop asking Him to get me out of a certain situation and instead, start asking to get all I can from the situation.  After all, He did allow and even design every day I will experience in my life. (Psalm 139: 16)

Well yesterday's reading from my favorite devotion "Streams in the Desert" really hit home.  I've been reading it for about 14 years now and the Lord still uses it to speak to my heart.

There is no burden which, if we lift it cheerfully and bear it with love in our hearts, will not become a blessing to us.  God means our tasks to be our helpers; to refuse to bend our shoulders to receive a load, is to decline a new opportunity for growth.
Blessed is any weight, however overwhelming, which God has been so good as to fasten with His own hand upon our shoulders.

I so want to learn to embrace every challenge the Lord sends me instead of  just enduring it.

Help me Lord to trust You more.

 Stephanie :)
