Birthdays and Tigers and Turkey Thugs. Oh My!

Monday night was Nick's birthday.
It just happened to be the National Championship game too.
Being born and raised in Louisiana, we love the Tigers.
So the theme for his party was kind of a no-brainer.
Me and the girls decked out in the purple and gold.

Several of our church members have a camp house with a big screen TV and suggested we have a tailgate/birthday party there.
Only thing was...they are Bama fans.
It made for a fun night.

Meet Danny and Bill.
Danny is a full blooded cajun and to say he likes LSU is an understatement.
He has an entire room in his house that is floor to ceiling purple and gold.
Bill leads our worship at church. He likes Bama.
This pic was taken BEFORE the game started.

Danny blessed Nick with this hat two minutes after he walked in the door!

This is Nick's mom.  She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

This is Carolyn.  She is one of the greatest prayer warriors I know.
And she loves Bro Nick.  And we love her.

And in case you were wondering where the Turkey Thug comes into play that is in the title..
well here you go.
During the commercials while the Tigers were getting stomped, we would switch over to the Pursuit channel and watch the show Turkey Thugs.
Our very own, Greg Briggs, is an official "Turkey Thug".
There are only 5 Turkey Thugs and he is one of them.
They call him "The Hammer".

Needless to say, this was much more exciting than the game.

Woo Doggie!....we got us a bone-a-fide celebrity in our midst!!

I had to get a picture with him before he gets too famous and forgets about us little people.

The best part of the night was hearing him share an amazing testimony of God's provision concerning something that we as a church specifically prayed about a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to go into details on here about it but God showed Himself strong and most definitely has strengthened our faith and in the power of prayer.
The Lord is already using this platform He's given Greg to glorify Himself.
Good stuff!

And last....
Here is Danny and Bill AFTER the game!
Too funny!  I'm so glad everyone was such good sports about the winning and the losing.
Bama deserved the victory for sure.

Oh and did I mention Danny the die-hard LSU fan is married to
Deborah, a sold out Bama girl!
I think this pic says it all!

Well...all in all, I'm pretty positive Nick had a great birthday
in spite of the fact LSU forgot to show up for the game!
Oh well, there is always next year!
Geaux Tigers!!

Stephanie :)
